How were light-emitting diodes invented? Actually it was not more than an occasion. It was connected with the semiconductor Silicon Carbide (SiC). The new science was nevertheless not really successful then. Again in some time in 1950s due to the researches of British specialists the process of progress started. So infrared LED was invented. Later appeared the 1st visible spectrum light-emitting diode. It shined red, which was gained by using Gallium Phosphide (GaP).
